I’m Zara, a textile artist, embroiderer, and experienced textiles teacher. I’ve spent many years working with textiles, teaching, designing, and making.
At Pebble and Stitch, I bring all of these passions together. I love the stories held within cloth, the character of old and worn fabrics, traditional textile techniques, and the possibilities that come from blending them with contemporary ideas.
My work is inspired by heritage, family, stories, nature, the coast and gardens. Through Pebble and Stitch, I share my love of textiles, encourage creativity, and celebrate the joy of making thoughtful and personal things by hand.

I run relaxed, creative textile workshops for adults and young people, sharing both traditional and contemporary techniques in an accessible and enjoyable way.
Workshops include:
• Fabric collage
• Free machine embroidery
• Hand embroidery
• Knitting
• Shasiko
• Textile jewellery
• Textile printing
These workshops can be offered independently or as part of community programmes, schools, groups, and creative organisations.

I create individual pieces of bespoke embroidery, made especially for you.
This might be a personalised piece, a celebration of a special memory, an embroidered artwork, or something created from a treasured piece of clothing or fabric.
I create one-of-a-kind textile artworks from photographs, memories and stories, combining, drawing, hand embroidery, free-machine embroidery, appliqué, and reclaimed fabrics. Each piece is built layer by layer, capturing something of the personality, places and memories connected to it.
Every commission is individually designed and hand stitched, making it unique to you.
